FASHION SHOW GUIDELINES

FASHION SHOW GUIDELINES

Attendees are invited to show off their best costumes in the Saturday Fashion Show. We're pulling out all thestops! We’ll provide the lights at music, while you strut your stuff on the catwalk. The show will be divided into broad categories, based upon era or genre of costume.

1. The Fashion Show is open to attendees of all ages. Any participant under 18 years of age must have a parental permission slip filled out at convention and an adult to accompany them to the pre-show meeting.
2. Costumes must be appropriate for an all-ages audience. Think rated PG-13 or below.
3. Individuals may only appear on the catwalk once. Creators are welcome to show off additional costumes on other models, but everyone appearing on stage must be a registered member of Figments& Filaments.
4. You do not have to be the creator to show off your costume. There is a place on the signup sheet for you to credit the costume maker if it is someone other than the model. However, costumes should be individual works. Costumes created for mass market not allowed. If you are concerned your costume may be "mass market", please contact us for clarification.
5. All participants must fill out an info sheet and release form at the convention. Sign ups will close at 4 pm on Saturday. All entries and entrants agree to allow Figments & Filaments the right to use their image and likeness for promotional purposes.
6. Attendees must be present for the mandatory pre-show safety meeting occurring 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the show. If you miss the meeting, you will not go on stage. Participant ribbons will be issued for every entrant for you to wear from your badge.
7. Individuals, duos and group entries are all welcome. Any group with a unifying theme can appear together or following one another on the catwalk, as space allows. Each person appearing on stage should fill out their own info sheet and release form, checking ‘Group’ and filling out the same Costume Title.
8. Safety is key. All weapons require approval of the show director and may not be brandished on stage. Weapons should have no projectiles and no items may be thrown from the catwalk between participants or to the audience. Large wingspans and appendages greater than 6 feet are not allowed.
9. Each entry is limited to 90 seconds and 3 poses on the catwalk. Our safety meeting will include a brief walk of the catwalk and review of where optimal posing positions are marked. Entrants are not expected to provide their own music and skits are not allowed.
10. If you have questions or are in need special consideration, please contact the show director as soon as possible at: fashion@figmentsandfilaments.com
